The Last Day Buck
Hunting Whitetail Deer in Saskatchewan Canada during the last week, in fact the last day of the season, when Robbie Tieman takes his buck!
The hunt day starts with a flurry of activity as the guides and hunters prepare to set out for the hunt day.
Greg Lavoie (outfitter/guide) at a bait site:
For our our baiting practices we we stay on top of it, of course, I never like to let a bait go to low. There’s always a bale there. There’s always something to hold the deer at the bait, you know good alfalfa, good hay. We freshen up with grain every every two days.
Then the call comes in at just past 11:00, Deer Down!
Robbie Tieman at the hunt site:
So this my first time to Saskatchewan. Pretty cold so geared up and got prepared for long day sits. I’m here with some buddies and some work clients, I’m really just along for the ride this time but I wouldn’t pass up a trip to go to Saskatchewan and hunt whitetail deer, biggest deer in the world. I saw a handful of bucks. This one right here was on the Hit List and he was the first shooter that came through today so last day, laid the hammer down. It was about 11:00. He was with another smaller buck. Greg had pictures of this deer on The Hit List and when Greg said make sure he doesn’t have any brows, and I confirmed he didn’t have any brow tines, shots were fired. Before that I was hoping he was dead and that we were going to find him, It’s just a dream to come up here and hunt big deer like this and to be successful is just something to bring back home and have memories for a lifetime. 50 yards easy tracking.
