Chaparral Hunting Adventures
I started hunting around the age of 16, with my dad and my grandpa. We hunted whitetail in Michigan I've been hunting big game up here in Saskatchewan roughly 20 years for whitetail and roughly three years for black bear.
There's a ton of deer in Michigan and there's a lot of hunters too. Every year it's fairly easy to shoot an animal. It's different up here in SK, you know what the potential could be up here in the forest. You see much bigger deer here, body and antler wise, horns too
We've been hunting up here in Saskatchewan for about 20 years for whitetail. Originally we were with two other outfitters before we landed with Chaparral. It's by far better than the other two places and we've been here ever since.
After hunting up here for whitetail, we decided to try a bear hunt. We've tried it the last three years and it is action packed. A big adrenaline rush with bears all around, acting like they're going to come up the tree. First stand I went to I probably saw four or five different bears, three of which were colour-phased. Moved to a different stand and four black bears that evening.
There's a lot of big Pike to catch in Turtle Lake when you're not hunting. It's a nice option to have
On this hunt there's numerous favourite things that come to mind. Hunting with my uncle and father. Fishing with those guys, catching big Pike. The action at the bear stand, we're through day three and I've seen multiple bears every night. The amenities, the food, everything. Everything about this place.
