October 1, 2014 – Waterfowl a close second

Another week closer to hunting season and I can’t wait!! It’s great to have Arch, Barry, Dave and Kyle setting up blinds and clearing trails. With all of us things will come together quickly. Deer hunting has long been my passion and waterfowl is a close second. My brother Dennis and daughter Chelsea went out Saturday morning to throw some steel in the air and came back with 8 geese. Birds were flying off the lake and heading out to feed and we were in between. As I shot at a flock of snow and blue geese, Chelsea let out a squeal as one of the shot birds was headed her way however a tree stopped it from hitting her. I had never seen a goose stuck way up in a poplar before. That said, my trusty lab (Chelsea) climbed the tree for the retrieval, it made for a good laugh and some funny pictures.

Like every week Kyle and I are back out checking cameras and what a week it was with lots of up and coming bucks and several dandies. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Still a few hunts available so come on up for a great hunt.
