February 7, 2018 – World Trophy Adventures booking hunts
The groundhog apparently seen his shadow so 6 more weeks of winter it is. I was at the lodge on the weekend just to grab a few quads that could use some TLC. The oil patch is still hit and miss so getting some camp jobs done now is a good thing. I took a tour on the skidoo and noticed the First Nation people were out and had a few moose down. At one of the kill sites the local Conservation Officer was there. He is new to the area and it was a good time to introduce myself and chat about some of the issues with outfitting. There is more snow since last time I was out and approximately 10 -12 inches were on the ground where I was. We got about 6 inches in November and the rest late January. The winter has had some cold snaps for sure but it’s still well within the WSI mild status.
Chaparral didn’t have a booth this year at the Great American Outdoor show but my focus of being a top notch camp remains strong. I have trouble missing more work to attend these shows but do plan on getting there again ( once all my girls are through university )!! I have chosen to let WTA handle a portion of my bookings and that helps me get new hunters to camp. The 2018 deer season still has spots available so if your interested in a great hunt with tremendous staff and lodging, please give me a call @ 780-872-0137 to discuss.
That’s all for now take care, Trent DeBusschere.
